Arooj Aftab becomes Pakistan's first Grammy nominee for best global music performance. On the 24th of November 2021, the nominee of Grammy 2022 was announced,
And Arooj Aftab is nominated 

She is the best vocalist, also singed in Pakistan movie.

She is living in the US for her study at the Berklee College of music. Her rendition of the Urdu famous Ghazal  "Mohabbat"  is nominated in grammy. Her song was also in the Obama playlist, Aftab’s nominations shortly made the rounds on Pakistani social media
